Youngster Reynolds Powers to BYJL Succcess

COVENTRY youngster Jack Reynolds powered to a dominant victory at the first round of the British Young & Junior League (BYJL) on Saturday afternoon in Birmingham.

A faultless four rides during the qualifying stags set Reynolds up perfectly for the A-final where a quick start ensured for a first success for the youngster.

Reynolds defeated Leicester’s Sophie Sinclair-Black in the final and Wednesfield’s Todd Rowley.

There was further reason to celebrate for the ‘Devlins Newsagents’ side as Jimmy Walsall won the under-14s event – and was closely followed by Ben Wells.

A former Leicester racer, Walsall made the switch to Coventry following the boom in success for the club and made Birmingham’s lengthy track his own.

Team mate Ben Wells rode well to pick up an impressive second.

Finally first team rider Myke Grimes had reason to be cheerful as Autumn Smith finished a remarkable third in her respective age category final.

After only starting the sport last year, Autumn – supported by step-father and GB international Myke Grimes – displayed great levels of improvement and looks set for a confidence boosting season.
