Silver Medal For Coventry’s Phillips

Coventry Cycle Speedway racer Bailie Phillips picked up a well deserved silver medal in the British Under 13 Girls final at Great Blakenham on Sunday afternoon.

The Rugby based pocket-rocket was in a position to go for gold, however Swindon’s Alice Neighbour snatched a dramatic victory in her final ride when overtaking Ipswich rider Gemma Hill on the final turn in her final ride – securing a 20 point maximum and the win.

Bailie stormed to four race wins throughout the meeting and scored 19 points over her five rides – the only point being dropped to eventual champion Alice Neighbour. It’s by far the biggest achievement of her Cycle Speedway career for young Bailie who’s extensive training and hard work at the Hearsall Common track has worked wonders.
